Services for Lloyd W. Holck, 72, Britt, who died Sunday, Oct. 6, 1996, at the Westview Care Center in Britt, were held Wednesday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m., at St, Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt with Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Lector was Joe Wellik and cross bearer was Frank Wellik.

Music was provided by organist La Rae Hobscheidt and soloist Louise Zrostlik. Ushers were John Fangman and Allan Doughan.

Honorary casket bearers were Harold Kahlstorf, John Burgardt, Don Eisenman, Connie Burgardt, Mike Charbonneaux and Maynard Holck.

Active bearers were Bill Holck, Casey Holck, Brad Ryckman, Ryan Holck, Steve Holck, Brian Ryckman, Roger Allen and Jeff Hughes.

Burial was at St. John's Cemetery, Duncan, with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Lloyd William Holck, the son of William and Margaret Jacobsen Holck, was born May 10, 1924, on the family farm north of Britt.

October 4, 1944, he married Evelyn L. Wellik at St. Wensceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. He farmed north of Britt from 1944 to 1954. After moving to town, he helped construct the Britt High School. He was a member of the Britt Police Department, serving as chief for several years.

Lloyd was also employed at Kerns Implement, Howie Implement and Fangman Implement. He had many interests including fishing and hunting.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where he was an usher for funerals.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his children, Arlene Christensen and her husband, Jerry of Britt, Larry Holck and his wife, Corinne of Mason City, Tom Holck and his wife, Sharon of Quincy, IL, and Mary Ryckman and her husband, Don of West Des Moines; nine grandchildren, Bill Holck, Amy Boekelman, Casey Holck, Ryan Holck, Brad Ryckman, Steve Holck, Brian Ryckman, Kevin Holck and Ian Holck; two great-grandchildren, Malory and Benjamin Holck. two sisters, Edith Drabek and her husband, George of Duncan, and Evelyn Buffington and her husband, John of Mason City; one brother, Marvin Holck and his wife, Peggy of Britt; and one sister-in-law, Viola Holck of Britt.

He was preceded in death by his father, William, on March 25, 1957; his mother, Margaret, on April 5, 1982; and his brother, Kenneth Holck, on May 1, 1988.
