Services for Joe M. Zrostlik, 76, of Duncan, who died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1987 at Concord Manor Care Center in Garner, were held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17 at St., Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Rev. Father Dale J. Rausch as celebrant. Rev. Msgr. John Chihak served as concelebrant. Mass servers were Steven Zrostlik and Marvin Zrostlik.

Mrs. Roger Kopacek, organist, accompanied the church choir. Ushers were Leo Wellik and Tom Zrostlik.

Casket bearers were Michael Zrostlik, Dale Golwitzer, Ron Lane, Jack Hendricks, Cletus Hadacek and Pete Zrostlik. Burial was in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan, with graveside military rites conducted by the Garner Veteran's Ceremonial Unit. A Scriptural Wake Service and the Catholic Workman's rosary were held Monday evening at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Joe Mike Zrostlik, the son of John and Mary (Hadacek) Zrostlik, was born March 21, 1910 at Duncan. After attending Garfield Township School No. 9, he farmed with his parents south of Duncan. Joe served his country in the U.S. Army from January of 1943 through November of 1945 in the European Theatre. After W.W. II, he returned to Duncan, where he farmed with his parents, and after 1953, with his brother, George. Joe was also sexton of St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan from 1960, until he retired in 1982.

He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Catholic Workman's Lodge No. 51, the Garner American Legion and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars at Garner.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Mrs. Betty Holecek of Algona, Mary A. Zrostlik of Mason City, John H. Zrostlik of Duncan, George Zrostlik of Garner, Mrs. Rose Kern and her husband, Ambrose, of Miller and Paul Zrostlik and his wife, Lila, of Garner; nine nieces and nephews; 1 great nephew and 1 great niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
