Hold services for Conrad Heyer

Funeral services for Conrad Heyer, 85, of Forest City were held Monday at Calvary Baptist church with the Rev. Richard Houg officiating.

Mr. Heyer died Thursday evening at a Mason City hospital following a brief illness.

John and Orrin Torkelson sang a duet and Mrs. Ralph Johnson served as organist during the services. Casket bearers were Meindert Dirksen, Vernon Gray, Mervin Gray, Elbert Green, Vernon Heyer and Floyd Huisman.

Interment was at Madison township cemetery with the Olson-Petersen Funeral Home of Forest City in charge of arrangements.

Conrad Heyer was born near Kamrar in Hamilton county on July 6, 1890, the son of George and Elizabeth (Harken) Heyer. He married Ann Huisman, Feb. 5, 1913.

The couple farmed in the Kamrar and Jewell vicinity until 1943, when they moved to a farm near Woden. In 1954, Mr. Heyer retired and the couple moved to Forest City.

Survivors include two daughters, Lila of Forest City and Mildred, Mrs. Al Cordes of Buffalo Center; one brother, Ben, of Litchfield, Minn; two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Iverson and Martha, Mrs. Henry Junker, both of Jewell; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, two brothers and a sister.
