Services for William J. Brugman, 59, who died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1987 of a heart attack, were held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday Nov. 3 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. Msgr. Roger E. O'Brien as celebrant. John Brugman served as sector.

Mrs. Ronald Kumsher accompanied the choir and a vocal trio whose members were John Galligan, Kathryn Galligan and Caroline Galligan. Ushers were Robert Kral and Elmer Urich.

Casketbearers were L.E. "Bud" Schleusner, Darl Schmidt, Bill Gilbert, Oscar "Jim" Olson, John Haugen and Joe Huinker.

Graveside military rites at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery by the Garner Veterans Ceremonial Unit. Visitation and Wake Service were held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

William Joesph Brugman, the son of Lloyd and Maude (Wilkins) Brugman was born December 21, 1927 at Garner. After graduating from Garner High School in 1945, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning to Garner, he worked for the R.E.C.

July 14, 1962, he married Helen Galligan at Lawler. For the past 8 years, he was employed by Iowa Mold Tooling Company in Garner.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner and the Garner V.F.W. Post.

He survived by his wife, Helen, and son, Richard of Garner; his sister, Mrs. Margaret Ross of Cincinnati, OH; 5 brothers, Stan and his wife, Margaret, of Hercules, CA; Lloyd, Jr. "Pete" of CA; Michael and his wife, Delores, of Phoenix, AZ; Larry and his wife, Betty of Pipestone, MN; and Eugene and his wife, Carol, of Rogers, AR; 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Brugman of Carlinville, IL, and Mrs. Shirley Brugman of Mankato, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Alfred, James, and Duane.
