Services for Milton E. Bohn, 66, of Ventura, who died Thursday, Sept. 29, 1988 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, were held 1:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 3 at St. John's Lutheran Church northeast of Garner with Rev. Reynold Petersen as officiant.

Mrs. Roland Boehnke served as organist. Ushers were Laurice "Pete" Woiwod and Arlo Woiwod.

Casket bearers were Robert Bohn, Vincent Woiwood, Norlyn Burmester, Ardell Waddingham, Roger Richardson and Robert Olson.

Graveside military rites by the Garner Veterans Ceremonial Unit were conducted at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Milton Edward Bohn, the son of Edward and Anna E. (Woiwod) Bohn was born July 12, 1922 on a farm in Hancock County near Ventura. After attending the rural schools of Hancock County, he farmed with his parents for several years. He entered the U.S. Army, February 23, 1945, and served until November 11, 1946, in the Philippines. When he returned from the service, he resumed farming.

November 25, 1951, he married Darlene Burmester at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton. They farmed in Ellington Township all of their married life.

He had been baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, where he was a lifetime member.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Bohn of Ventura; his son, Charles Bohn and his wife, Rhonda, of Ventura; his daughter, Charlotte Bohn of Ventura; two grandchildren; two sisters, Hilda Bohn of Mason City and Thelma Bohn of Garner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mildred Bohn.
