Memorial services for Helen V. Housh, 88, Edina, MN, formerly of Garner, who died Sunday, March 8, 1998, at Edina, MN, were held Saturday, March 14, 11 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Garner with Rev. Kay Hooper officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mary Kopacek, who accompanied the congregational hymn.

Helen Viola Housh, the daughter of Carl and Charlotte Rudolph, was born May 20, 1909, in Kansas City, MO. She had two older brothers, Max and Carl.

In 1928, Helen married Charles Nelson Housh in Kansas City. In 1930 they moved to Albert Lea, MN, where Chuck was a livestock buyer with Wilson and Company.

In 1929, Charles N. Housh Jr. was born, in 1932 Claire Lou Housh was born, in 1933 Raymond Rudolph Housh was born, and in 1935 Allen Arthur Housh was born.

In 1934 Chuck and Helen moved to Manly where Chuck worked in the cattle business with Oswald Strand and in 1936, the family moved to Garner where Chuck continued to work in the cattle business.

In 1958, Helen began her career in braided rugs. Through the years, she made more than 60 works of art.

In 1967, the couple purchased a summer home on the south shore of Clear Lake.

In 1975, Chuck died and in 1977, Helen moved to a year-round home on the north shore of Clear Lake. In 1997, she moved to the Elder Homestead In Minneapolis, MN.

She is survived by her children, Charles and his wife, Imelda Housh Jr., Claire and her husband, Robert Peterson, Ray and his wife, Nancy Housh, and Allen and his wife, Jean Housh; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles
