Services for Andrew Waite, 17, of Garner, who died Friday evening as the result of a pick-up accident south of Garner, were held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. Msgr. Roger E'Brien as celebrant. Rev. Wm. Holzer was concelebrant. Mrs. Dean McAfee served as lector. Mrs. Ronald Kumsher, organist, accompanied the church choir.

Ushers were Elmer Urich, Robert Kral and Duane Severson.

Honorary bearers were members of the Garner-Hayfield Varsity Basketball Team. Active bearers were Bryan Schroeder, Bryon J. Schaeffer, Dan Finn, Dan Huinker, Martin McAloon and Tracy Schrader. Burial was in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery at Garner. Visitation and rosaries were held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner Monday evening.

Memorials may be given to the "Andrew Waite Memorial Fund."

Andrew Frank Waite, the son of Robert and Mary (Braatz) Waite was born May 17, 1967 at Britt. Andy was a senior at Garner-Hayfield High School where he played basketball and baseball, lettering in both sports. He especially enjoyed working with computers and computer programming.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner where he had served as an altar boy since fourth grade.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Mary Waite; his brother, Allan Waite and his wife, Arlie, of Clear Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Dale (Debra) Roberts of Garner, Mrs. Douglas (Diane) Ingersoll of Aurora, Illinois and Mrs. Amy Waite and her husband David Zavortink of Fairbanks, Alaska; seven nieces and nephews; his grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Waite of Toledo, Iowa; his great-grandmother, Mrs. Olga Braatz of Whittemore.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Waite in 1954; and his grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Werner Braatz and Edward Waite.
