Carl Paulsen, 75, Funeral Services Today At 2 P.M.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p. m. at Immanuel Lutheran church for Carl Paulsen, 75, who died Monday night at Forest City Municipal hospital.

The Rev. Owen Gangstead will officiate and burial will be in Madison cemetery. Olson funeral home is in charge.

Ronald and Ruth Klipping will sing and Mrs. Joseph Peterson will be organist. Pallbearers will be W. L. Baggs, Edward Boehnke, Semon Steiff, Carl Gustafson, Harold Bartleson and Paul Kristensen.

Carl Christian Paulsen was born in 1883 at Browst, Denmark, the son of Jasper and Ana Marie Jensen Paulsen. He came to the United States in 1904, settling in Hancock county. For many years he farmed in Ellington township.

He married Emma Casperson at Garner April 6, 1916. His first wife, by whom he will be buried, died Sept. 23, 1942.

Aug. 19, 1947, he married Julia Peterson and after retiring from the farm they lived in Garner. She died Feb. 17, 1953.

March 12, 1955, he married Kristine Kristensen and moved to Forest City.

Mr. Paulsen served several years on the boards of the cooperative creamery, oil company and elevator in Forest City when he was farming in Ellington township.

He had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran church for many years. He became a member of the Odd Fellows lodge in 1915 and was a member of all branches of that order.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Erwin of Omaha and Clifford and Paul of Forest City; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd (May) Standley of Grand Island, Nebr.; a brother, Jens S. Paulsen of Mason City, and a sister, Elvina Martinson of Clear Lake.

There are also three brothers and two sisters in Denmark, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
