Services for Mike Roach, 84, of Garner, who died Friday, Jan. 31, were held 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 3 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. Msgr. Roger O'Brien as celebrant.

Mrs. Ronald Kumsher, organist, accompanied the church choir. Tim Schmidt served as lector. Mass servers were Greg Kumsher, Greg Schaefer and Dan Barker. Ushers were Elmer Urich and Robert Kral.

Casketbearers were Ronald Kumsher, Darl Schmidt, Tom Roach, Larry Wise, Larry Roach and Larry Gelner. Burial was in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery at Garner.

Parish rosary was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel Sunday evening.

Michael Martin Roach, the son of John and Rose (Hamilton) Roach was born September 30, 1901 at Canby, Minn. When ten years of age, he moved to Garner with his family and attended the Garner Community Schools. For several years he worked for various farmers in the Garner area.

February 7, 1928, he married Marie Schmidt at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner. Mike worked for Goodrich & Bethke Produce for several years and then, for 10 years, delivered cream from the local farm area to the Garner Farmer's Cooperative Creamery. He worked as custodian at the Hancock County Court House in Garner from 1959 until he retired in 1966.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner and was a member of the Garner Senior Citizens.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; his daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Elaine) Jones of Garner; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Maurice Roach of Mason City; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Gelner of Mason City and Mrs. Agnes Gelner of Forest City; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Harriet Roach of Oregon and Mrs. Virginia Roach of Roseville, Minn.; and his brother-in-law, Alvin "Bud" Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, David, John, Charles and Edward; and six sisters, Mrs. Mary Thul, Mrs. Ethel Geddes, Genevieve Roach, Elizabeth Roach, Mrs. Rose Schmidt and Mrs. Theresa Schmidt
