Services for Ray Pringnitz, 51, of Britt, who died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 1995 at his home southwest of Britt, were held Friday, Feb. 3, at the United Methodist Church in Britt with Rev. Dennis Bailey as officiant.

Mrs. Scott Johnson was organist. Ushers were Harry Smith and Robert Hiscocks.

Casket bearers were Robert Malek, Scott Rayhons, Wayne Fox, Dennis Zuehl, John Price and Steve Palmer.

Burial was in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Britt.

Raymond Duane Pringnitz, the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Helps) Pringnitz, was born December 15, 1943 at Garner. After graduating from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1962, he began working as a painter at Iowa Mold Tooling Company in Garner.

August 28, 1965, he married Jean K. Schulz at the United Methodist Church in Britt. In 1968, he began working in a car body shop in Garner, which he later owned and operated as Ray's Body Shop. In 1981, the family moved to Crescent, OK where Ray was a mechanic for Mel's Construction and also for Thurmond-McLaughlin Company. As a side-line, the family also had a livestock-farming operation. In 1988, they moved southwest of Britt and continued farming. Ray enlisted in the U. S. Army, where he had served in the reserves from 1964-70.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men's Club. He was a director at the Farmer's Cooperative Elevator of Woden & Hutchins and a trustee for Boone Township.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Pringnitz of Britt; two sons, Douglas Pringnitz and his wife, Marla, and their two sons, Mark and Conner, all of Dover, OK, and Dustin Pringnitz of Edmond, OK; his mother, Dorothy Pringnitz of Garner; a sister, Beverly Klein and her husband, Raymond of Hampton; and a brother, Roger H. Pringnitz and his wife, Patsy of Lowell, AK.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dan William Pringnitz in 1970, and his father, Ernest Pringnitz in 1974.
