Death Of Mrs. Ed. Steil

Mrs. Ed. Steil is dead. This will be distressing news to the many friends of this lady. She passed away at a Mason City hospital about 10:00 Wednesday forenoon. For some time Mrs. Steil has been ailing, but her condition did not become alarming until the last few days before she was taken to the hospital. Not until Tuesday of this week, one day before her death, did she go to the hospital.

A number of years ago, Mrs. Steil had a siege of flu and she never fully recovered from the effects of the attack.

The deceased was born and raised in Garner. She was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Griesemer. Because of lack of definite information, we are writing this sketch of Mrs. Steil from our personal recollections.

When a young woman in her teens or early twenties, she became the wife of Ed. Steil. For a time they resided upon a farm near Garner. Of late years however, they have lived here in town. One child was born to them, but it died in infancy.

She leaves her husband, father, mother and one brother, banker P. M. Griesemer of Klemme, to mourn her passing.

She was a splendid wife, a wholesome person and had a host of friends. Funeral services will he held Friday morning at St. Boniface church, Rev. Fr. Woerdehoff officiating at 9:00 o'clock, and interment will be in the Catholic cemetery west of town.
