Services for Frank Pistek, 95, Duncan, who died Friday, Feb. 9, 1990 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, were held Monday, Feb. 12, 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Rev. Dale Rausch, officiating. John Surat served as lector.

Music was provided by organist, Mary Kopacek, who accompanied the church choir. Ushers were Cletus Hadacek and Paul Zrostlik.

Casket bearers were Leonard Pistek, Jr., Dennis Hutchinson, Francis Pistek, Joseph Pistek, Curtis Gast, Paul Pistek and Bill Swift.

Burial was at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Frank Pistek, the son of Fabian and Katherine Mitackova Pistek, was born January 28, 1895 in Hluk Moravia (Czechoslovakia). In 1913, he came to the United States, He worked at various jobs from factory work to farming.

January 23, 1923, he married Barbara Hadacek at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. The couple farmed in the Britt area. In 1946, they settled on their own farm where Frank lived the remainder of his life. He was admitted to the hospital, on January 5, 1990.

Frank was a member of St. Wencelaus Catholic Church in Duncan and the Catholic Workman Lodge Branch 51.

He is survived by one son, Leonard Pistek, Sr. and his wife, Kathleen of Britt; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara, who died August 15, 1981; three brothers; and three sisters.
