Leonard Buckley
1924-1996

Services for Leonard Buckley, 71, Garner, who died Monday, Jan. 29, 1996, at North Iowa Mercy Health Canter East in Mason City, were held Thursday, Feb, 1, 10:30 a.m., at St, Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev, John W, Hemann as celebrant, Mrs. Maurice Buckley served as lector.

Mrs. Ronald Kumsher, organist, accompanied the St. Boniface Catholic Choir. Elmer Urich was usher.

Casket bearers were nieces and nephews, Steven Buckley, Tom Buckley, Robert Buckley, Bonnie Hackman, Rose Marie Kastner, Gary Boller, Mark Buckley, William Buckley, Michael McLaughlin, Theresa DeWitt, John McLaughlin, Charles McLaughlin. Barbara Hrubes, Carol Tlach, Linda Gomez, Paul Buckley, Diane Clemmer, Mary Meier, Jane Reysack, Nancy Stadler, Kathy Jo Cordle, Patrick McLaughlin, Laurie Been and Matthew McLaughlin.

Burial was at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Garner. Visitation was held at Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Leonard Raymond Buckley, the son of Raymond W. and Meta Lena (Klinge) Buckley, was born December 8, 1924, on a farm southeast of Britt. He attended the rural schools of Liberty Township and then farmed in Liberty Township and southeast of Britt until 1980. Leonard drove a mail route and stock truck until he retired in 1985. He enjoyed fishing and visiting with relatives and friends.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Teamster's Union.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Elmer Buckley and his wife. Marion of Garner, and their children, Steven Buckley, Barbara
Hrubes, Tom Buckley, Carol Tlach, Robert Buckley, Linda Gomez, Bonnie Hackman and Paul Buckley, Ella Marie Ridder and her husband, James of Garner, and their two daughters, Rose Marie Kastner and Diane Clemmer, Maurice Buckley and his wife, Donna of Ventura, and their children, Gary Boller, Mary Meier, Mark Buckley, Jane Reysack, William Buckley and Nancy Stadler, Margaret McLaughlin and her husband, Loren of Kensett, and their children, Michael McLaughlin, Kathy Jo Cordle, Theresa DeWitt, Patrick McLaughlin, John McLaughlin, Laurie Been, Charles McLaughlin and Matthew McLaughlin; and 40 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Buckley, March 27, 1966; and his mother, Meta L. Buckley, September 15, 1993; and a nephew, Patrick Raymond McLaughlin.
