Services for Mrs. Mamie Suchy, 86, of Garner, who died Thursday, May 2, 1991 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City were held 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 6 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. Fr. Louis J. Trzil as officiant. Lector was Leonard Formanek.

Mrs. Ronald Kumsher, organist, accompanied the church choir. Ushers were Elmer Urich and Robert Kral.

Casket bearers were Leonard Formanek, William Malek Jr., Marvin Vavrik, Bill Vavrik, George Tusha and Wayne Eckhoff.

Burial was in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan. Visitation, Rosary Society Rosary and a Scriptural Wake Service were held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Mamie Suchy, the daughter of Frank and Annastascia (Tusha) Vavrik, was born November 20, 1904 at Duncan. She attended the rural schools of Garfield Township.

January 20, 1931, she was married to Joe Kubiska at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. They farmed near Hayfield for 16 years and then moved into Garner in 1947. Her husband Joe, died in 1947. In May of 1954, she was married to Frank Suchy at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. They made their home in Garner the rest of their lives.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Rosary Society.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Joe T. (Rose) Formanek of Garner and Mrs. William (Lillian) Malek of Britt; a brother, Louis J. Vavrik, and his wife, Marjorie of Ventura; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Vavrik of Britt and Mrs. Frank (Elsie) Vavrik of Garner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Kubiska in 1947, and Frank Suchy in 1972; her parents; and four brothers, George Vavrik, William Vavrik, Robert Vavrik and Frank Vavrik.
