Services for Edwin R. Shahan, 74, Belmond, who died Monday, June 3, 1996, at the Belmond Community Hospital in Belmond, were held Thursday, June 6, 1 p.m., at the Ewing Funeral Home in Belmond with Rev. Laurence Garrett officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Maxine Jenison, and soloist, Maxine Whitty.

Honorary casket bearers were Pat Sweeney, Tom Rouchka, Larry Mennenga, Stan Sorenson, Pete Pals, Merle Ruka and Brad Hartwig.

Active bearers were Shawn Shahan, Chad Shahan, Keisha Shahan, Cliff Krivachek, Eric Roe and Fawna Shahan.

Burial was at the Amsterdam Cemetery in Goodell with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Edwin Ray Shahan, the son of Lee and Mary Carter Shahan, was born July 16, 1921, in Hickory Grove. He attended country school. Edwin farmed near Hickory Grove for many years.
