Pauline A. Coates passed away on Thursday, November 11, at the IOOF Home in Mason City. Funeral Services were held Monday, Nov. 15, at 12 noon, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason City. Interment was held at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Garner.

Born June 30, 1900, in Carroll, to H. A. and Catherine (Skalla) Yegge, she was 99 years old.

She was married to Clarence Reinig Feb. 2, 1922. Following seven years of farming around Portsmouth, they moved to Garner, where Clarence died in 1932, leaving her with six children to raise during the depression. Through her faith, love, and determination, she was able to keep her family intact.

Pauline was married to Ivan Coates in 1949 where they resided in Mason City, gaining another daughter, Darlene. Throughout her many years she looked to her faith for inspiration, plus love of family, music, and gardening, for a full life. Pauline moved to the IOOF Home in 1993 due to health reasons.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Reinig in 1932, husband Ivan Coates, in 1996, a son Donald Reinig, brothers. Leo, Frank, and Albert Yegge, a sister Florence Ludwig, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and three great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Russell Reinig and wife Jean of Lincoln, Neb.; Lester Reinig and wife Wilma, Kenneth Reinig and wife Mary Jo, all of Sun Lakes, AZ; James Reinig and wife Darlene of Mesa AZ; daughters Rose Ann Stille and husband Harlan; Darlene Brackey and husband Dean all of Mason City; Daughter in law, Mrs. Don (Karen) Reinig, of Keokuk; sisters Marie Doughan of Britt; Lucille Townsend and husband Marvin of Garner; 46 grandchildren, 106 great-grandchildren and 44 great-great grandchildren.
