Death of Carl Bahr

Carl Bahr died last Thursday morning at his home in Garner. He was in the yard doing some work when last seen, and a few minutes later his son-in-law, John Doll, found him dead where he had fallen in the yard. He had not been sick, but he was not strong.

He was born in West Prussia, German, February 18, 1843. In 1883 he came to the United States and came directly to Garner. The next year on December 2, he was married to Miss Emma Seig, and they always made their home northwest of Garner. Mrs. Bahr passed away about three years ago, and a son Ferdinand died nearly seven years ago.

Four daughters survive their father, Mrs. C. Pinckney of Minneapolis, Mrs. T. M. George of Forest City, Mrs. H. C. Zeismer of Ventura and Mrs. John A. Doll of Garner.

The funeral was held from the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Maas, and the remains laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery northeast of Garner.

Mr. Bahr was an honest, hard working old gentleman, and had many friends.
