Services, Jan. 21st

Funeral services for James W. Drabek, 80, were held from the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Duncan, on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m.

The Rt. Rev. Msgr. W. C. Hradecky officiated at the Requiem High Mass. Interment was made in St. John's Catholic Cemetery at Duncan.

Pallbearers were; Robert Krall, Eugene Jakoubek, Arnold Hejlik, Charles Ward, Leonard Drabek and Gary Drabek. Ushers were Donald Kopacek and Roger Kopacek.

Family Rosary was held at the Bohn Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m., and Parish Rosary at 8 p.m., Friday. Mr. Drabek died at the Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Thursday, Jan. 19th.

James W. Drabek, son of Frank and Mary Luchan Drabek, was born November 25, 1886, in Czechoslovakia. He came to Hancock County in 1902. He was in the building and contracting business until retirement.

He was married to Miss Frances Wellik January 12, 1909, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. He was a member of the Catholic Workmen Lodge and served as financial and recording secretary for many years.

Survivors are his wife, Frances; ten children; Mrs. Rose Ward, Mrs. Ernest (Clara) Malek, Tom, George and Raymond Drabek, all of Britt; Frank and James Jr., of Des Moines; Mrs. Raymond (Marie) Hejlik, Rockwell; William of Rio, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Allen (Helen) Townsend of Breckenridge, Missouri; 57 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A son preceded him in death.
