Services for Anne J. Brear, 93, of Garner who passed away Thursday, June 24 at the Concord Care Center in Garner were held 10 a.m., Monday at the United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Daniel Bloesch officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mrs. Karen Pedersen who accompanied soloist, Gary Moore and a congregational hymn.

Ushers were Norman Henschen and Don Quintus.

Honorary bearer was Jim Reinig.

Casket bearers were Gerald Howell, Raymond Hagen, Harlan Haberkamp, Dr. W.J. Mack, Jerry Nedved and Clarke Pollock.

Interment was at Concord Township Cemetery.

Visitation was held Sunday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Garner.

Anne Josephine Brear, the daughter of Murdo M. and Carrie (Rolles) Murray, was born February 6, 1906 at Haug, MN. In 1912, she moved with her family to the Province of Manitoba in Canada, where they farmed for eight years and Anne attended elementary school. In April of 1921, the family returned to the United States and lived at Lancaster, MN. Anne graduated from Lancaster High School in 1925 and in 1928 received her nursing degree from St. Luke's Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

On March 1, 1929 she was married to Nicholas E. Brear of Garner at Minneapolis, MN. They established their home in Garner where they resided all of their married life, except for nineteen months during WW II. For eight years they had spent their winters in Phoenix, AZ. Anne had lived at Prairie View Apartments before moving to Concord Care Center due to ill health.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, since 1929, U.P.W. and P.E.O.

She is survived by her sister, Nora Perrizo and her husband, Charles of Naples, FL; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Murray of Colorado Springs, CO; four nephews; five nieces; and one grandniece.

She was preceded in death by her husband, N.E. Brear, February 7, 1986; her father, Murdo Murray, March 12, 1941; her mother, Carrie R. Murray, June 17, 1980; a sister, Blanche Murray in 1936; and two brothers, Ross Murray in June of 1988 and Alex Murray in 1992.
