George E. Nedved, 69

Services for George Elmer Nedved, 69, of Garner, who died Tuesday, at his home in Garner, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 24, at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Rev. Msgr. John Chihak as celebrant.

Mass servers will be Mark Paca, Michael Oborny, and Lewis A. Nedved. Organist Patti Paca, will accompany the choir. Ushers will be Bill Chizek and Vincent Nedved.

Casketbearers will be: Gaylord Alger, Ronald Nedved, Steven Nedved, Chas. Erdmann, Duane Leerar and Anton Trca. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan.

Parish and Catholic Workman's rosaries were held Wednesday evening at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

George E. Nedved, the son of Charlie and Lena (Chizek) Nedved was born April 17, 1911, on a farm northeast of Duncan. He attended school at Garfield #5. George farmed in the Duncan area for many years. He moved into Garner in 1957 and retired from active farming several years later.

He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Catholic Workman's Lodge at Duncan.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Tony (Lula) Trca of Garner and Mrs. Earl (Marcella) Erdmann of Garner; and 2 brothers, Charlie and his wife, Esther of Garner and Rudolph and his wife, Betty, of Garner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Henry in 1938.
