Services for Mrs. Frances M. Millard, 91, Garner who died Thursday, Jan. 3, 1991 at Concord Care Center in Garner were held 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 7 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. Fr. Marvin Bries as celebrant. Sr. Mary K. Doughan was lector.

Mrs. Ronald Kumsher, organist, accompanied the church choir. Ushers were Elmer Urich and Robert Kral.

Casket bearers were Richard Miller, Tom Coyier, Jack Coyier, John Millard, Matthews Helmers, Brian Millard, Tim Davison and Bob Millard.

Burial was in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Garner. A Scriptural Wake Service by the parish and a rosary by the Catholic Daughter's of America and the Rosary Society were held Sunday evening at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Mrs. Frances Mildred Millard, the daughter of Anthony and Emma (Jones) Gard, was born December 23, 1899 at Graettinger. After graduating from Cylinder High School in 1917, she attended Mason City Junior College. After receiving her teaching certificate, she taught in the rural schools near Cylinder.

October 15, 1919, she was married to William F. Millard at Emmetsburg. They lived in Cylinder, Britt and in 1921, moved to Garner. After her husband's death, November 26, 1965, she continued to live in Garner.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, St. Boniface Rosary Society, was a charter member of Catholic Daughter's of America, belonged to Royal Neighbor's and was a member and past-president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Garner. Frances had been active in civic and community affairs.

She is survived by her children, Mrs. Mary Coyier and her husband, Wayne of Clear Lake, and William A. Millard and his wife, Mary Lou of Nora Springs; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Betty Corbett of Pensacola, FL; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Florence Gard of Ruthven; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Millard; her son, John Millard; her parents, a sister, Mrs. Naomi Wright; and five brothers, Ronald Gard, Reuben Gard, Victor Gard, Vernon Gard and Harold Gard.
