Duncan - Frank Kumstat, well known man in the vicinity of Duncan, passed away at Mercy hospital, Mason City, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The remains were brought here and Monday were taken to St. Wenceslaus church at Duncan where the Rev. Fr. Kopecky said requiem mass for him and the remains were laid to rest in the Duncan cemetery.

Mr. Kumstat was born in Czechoslovakia on Sept. 5, 1888, and at the age of 16 years came to the United States. He died at the age of 44 years. The greater share of the twenty-eight years spent in the United States were spent in Hancock county, where he worked on farms. He was noted for his honesty and willingness to work and made many friends here. The last nine years of his life were spent at the Frank Trca home near Eagle lake, where he worked and made his home.

About two months ago he became ill and the doctors told him to cease working, which he did. Feeling somewhat better, he made plans to leave the United States November 8 and return to his old home and his mother, but ill health made him postpone his trip and two weeks ago he got another attack and was rushed to Mercy hospital, where he died Friday of heart trouble.

He leaves to mourn many friends near Duncan and in Drahobudice, Czechoslovakia, Europe, he leaves in aged mother of 80 and three sisters.

Pall bearers were James Rokos, Frank Trca, Aldrich Nedved, Charles and James Tlach and Frank T. Formanek.
