Services for Mrs. Iva Belle Hollatz, 69, of Clear Lake, who died Friday, June 23, 1989 at Mercy Hospital in Mason City were held 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 26 at St. John's Lutheran Church northeast of Garner with Rev. Reynold B. Petersen as officiant.

Mrs. Ronald Boehnke was organist. Ushers were Elmer Jante, Ed Furness and Marvin Brager.

Casket bearers were Ralph Larsen, Marvin Larsen, Tom Schultz, Dennis Kruger, Keith Kruger, and Walter Kruger.

Burial was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery northeast of Garner. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Iva Belle Hollatz, the daughter of John and Ruth (McCauley) Nagel, was born June 10, 1920 at Mason City. After graduating from Mason City High School in 1940, she worked at State Brand Creamery in Mason City until 1945.

January 6, 1945, she was married to Melvin R. Hollatz in First Christian Church at Mason City. They farmed northeast of Garner until 1977, when they retired from active farming and moved into Garner. In 1981, they moved to Lakeland Park Apartments at Clear Lake. Iva Belle enjoyed sewing and taking care of her houseplants.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, L.W.M.L. and the Ventura Garden Club.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Hollatz, of Clear Lake; her son, Michael Hollatz and his wife, Dee, of Garner; three grandchildren, Angie, Matthew and Bradley; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Larsen of Clear Lake and Mrs. Juanita Kruger and her husband, Walt, of Manly; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four infant children, Richard, Ricky, Jackie and Nancy and her parents.
