Services For Mrs. G. H. Koch
To Be Held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Thurs.

Funeral services will be held at the St. Paul's Lutheran church on Thursday, August 26, at 2 p. m. for Mrs. Geo. H. Koch. The Rev. G. J. Kupke will be in charge of the service, with interment in St. John's Lutheran cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wm. Boehnke, Herbert Ollenburg, Carl Woiwod, Carl Hollatz, Chas. Hoeft and Wm. Dorow.

Pauline Koch, nee Emden, was born December 5, 1865 in Germany, the daughter of Carl and Caroline Emden. She came to America with her parents at the age of 3 and lived at Springfield, Ill.

Her father died a short time after coming to America and the family moved to New Berlin, Ill., here she received her elementary education and was confirmed in the Lutheran, faith in 1879.

She was married to the Rev. Geo. H. Koch on December 9, 1890, and lived in southern Wisconsin, where Rev. Koch served as traveling missionary. Some years later the family moved to Petersburg, Ill., where they lived for 10 years and then lived at Peoria, Ill., for 3 years.

In 1905 she came with her husband to St. John's northeast of Garner. In 1920 they moved to Galva and when her husband retired they returned to Garner where she has spent the rest of her life.

Mrs. Koch, suffered a stroke on Friday, August 6, and became bedfast. She died at 5 p. m. on Monday, August 23, at the age of 82 years, 8 months, 18 days.

Seven children were born to this marriage: Julius Koch, Peoria, Ill., the Rev. Otto Koch, deceased, Mrs. Albert Fenger (Erna) Oxford, Mississippi; the Rev. Geo. A. Koch, Houston, Tex., Theodore Koch, Boone; Alfred Koch, Garner and Mrs. Martin Kruse (Ruth), Roselle, Ill.

Besides the children she is survived by 23 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.

Five of her grandsons are serving in the Lutheran ministry.

Mrs. Koch was a consecrated Christian, a faithful and devoted wife and mother.

The family requests no flowers for the services, but memorial gifts for missions, etc., will be graciously accepted.
