Services for Meta L. Buckley, 96, of Garner, who died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1993 at Concord Care Center in Garner were held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. John W. Hemann as celebrant. Mrs. Maurice Buckley was lector.

Mr. Ronald Kumsher, organist, accompanied the St. Boniface Choir. Ushers were Elmer Urich and Robert Kral.

Casket bearers were Steven Buckley, Barbara Hrubes, Tom Buckley, Carol Tlach, Robert Buckley, Linda Gomez, Bonnie Hackman, Paul Buckley, Rose Marie Kastner, Diane Clemmer, Gary Boller, Mary Meier, Mark Buckley, Jane Reysack, William Buckley, Nancy Stadler, Michael McLaughlin, Kathy Jo Cordle, Theresa DeWitt, Patrick McLaughlin, John McLaughlin, Laurie Been, Charles McLaughlin and Matthew McLaughlin.

Burial was in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Garner. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel where a rosary by the Rosary Society and a Scriptural Wake Service were held Friday evening.

Meta Lena Buckley, the daughter of Fredrick and Dora (Wacker) Klinge, was born June 11, 1897 on a farm southwest of Garner. She attended rural schools of Liberty Township.

October 10, 1923, she was married to Raymond W. Buckley at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt. They farmed southwest of Garner until they retired in 1957 and moved into Garner. Meta enjoyed her family, sewing, flower gardening and gardening.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rosary Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her five children, Leonard, Buckley of Garner, Elmer Buckley and his wife, Marion of Garner and their children, Steven Buckley, Barbara Hrubes, Tom Buckley, Carol Tlach, Robert Buckley, Linda Gomez, Bonnie Hackman and Paul Buckley, Ella Marie Ridder and her husband James of Garner and their children, Rose Marie Kastner and Diane Clemmer, Maurice Buckley and his wife, Donna of Ventura and their children, Gary Boller, Mary Meier, Mark Buckley, Jane Reysack, William Buckley and Nancy Stadler, Margaret McLaughlin and her husband, Loren of Kensett and their children Michael McLaughlin, Kathy Jo Cordle, Theresa DeWitt, Patrick McLaughlin, John McLaughlin, Laurie Been, Charles McLaughlin and Matthew McLaughlin; 31 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Buckley, March 27, 1966; a grandson, Patrick Raymond McLaughlin; her parents; two sisters, Mrs. George (Ida) Bollinger and Lydia Klinge; and four brothers, Otto Klinge, Fred Klinge, Louis Klinge and Henry Klinge.
