Services for Joseph E. Wenck, 67, of Garner, who died Saturday, May 29, 1993 at North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, were held 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. Marvin Bries as celebrant.

Mrs. Ronald Kumsher, organist, accompanied the St. Boniface choir. Ushers were Elmer Urich and Robert Kral.

Honorary casket bearers were LuVerne Jante, Dr. R.J. Ryan, Dale Slagle and Don Patro.

Active bearers were Robert Whelan, Dale Maley, Kenneth Greiman, John Klesel, Duane Pigman, Tim Whelan, Louis Patro and Lawrence Engstler.

Burial was in St. Boniface Cemetery in Garner. Visitation and a Scriptural Wake Service were held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Joseph Edward Wenck, son of Edward Samuel and Marie (Ryan) Wenck, was born November 6, 1925 at Dixon, IL. After graduating from Garner High School in 1943, he farmed northeast of Garner with his father until he retired in 1988. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joe was devoted to his family and friends.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Garner Saddle Club.

He is survived by his cousin, Helen Jante and her husband, LuVerne of Rockwell City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.
