Services for Anna M. Orthel, 94, Britt, a life long resident of Hancock County, who died Saturday, Jan. 28, 1989 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, were held Tuesday, Jan. 31, 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt with Rev. John M. Gregory as celebrant.

Music was provided by organist, Francis Harrington, who accompanied a duet of Georgia Harrington and Paul Harrington. Ushers were Lloyd Holck and Michael Kumsher.

Casket bearers were James Fitzpatrick, Edd McDermott, Vincent Smith, William Orthel, Wayne Fox and Allan Doughan.

Burial was at the Bingham Township Cemetery, Woden with Ewing Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Anna M. Orthel, the daughter of William and Margaret Bretz Orthel, was born March 25, 1894 near Woden. She taught in the rural schools and was a long time employee for the Farmers Coop Elevator as a bookkeeper in Britt.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
