Funeral Services Held

Thomas Franklin Murr, son of Horace and Cora Murr, was born Sept. 15, 1900 near Wright, Iowa, in Mahaska County and died Wednesday, August 17, at Hancock Memorial hospital at Britt. Iowa.

He received his education in the Mahaska County schools and as a young man, he moved to Chicago where he met and married Alice Griffeth on June 16. 1928. For many years, he was employed by the Link Belt Company of Chicago. After retiring. he went into real estate and construction business in Florida and Arkansas. His wife, Alice. died October 24, 1975 at Bancroft, Iowa. Tom then moved to Prairie View at Garner, Iowa. Later, because of ill health, he spent two months with his sister, Mrs. Juanita Hamstreet, and at Wilfare Haven at Burt, Iowa.

Surviving are four sisters; Mrs. Chet (Ruth) Missman and her husband of Woden, Mrs. Paul (Mary) Montgomery, of Oskaloosa. Iowa, Mrs. W.F. Hamstreet (Juanita) of Burt and Mrs. C.J. (Mattie) Eisenmann of Woden; one brother. Orville Murr and wife, Eunice, of Leon, Iowa; eleven nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three brothers-in-law.

Services were held at Boughton-Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Woden, August 19, at 1:30 p.m. Burial was in Bingham Twp. Cemetery with nephews as pallbearers.
