Henry Meyer, 87

Services for Henry Meyer, 87, of Woden, who died Sunday at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, were held 1:30 p.m., Wed., Oct. 19, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Woden with Rev. Mark Smith as officiant.

Mrs. John Kurtzleben served as organist and ushers were Antony V. Buns and Vernon Stohr.

Casket bearers were Fred Hugo, Jr., LeRoy Brandt, Jr., Collin Fjetland, Colen Fjetland, Michael Brandt, and Larry Wood.

Burial was in Bingham Township Cemetery in Woden. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Woden.

Henry Carl Meyer, the son of Ernest and Louise (Kemper) Meyer was born May 3, 1896 at Flanagan, Ill. At an early age he moved with his family to the Wesley area and then to Woden where he attended school. For 42 years, until he retired in 1973, he owned and operated the "Sweet-Shop" in Woden. He had lived at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City for the past several years.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Woden.

He is survived by a brother, John W. Meyer and his wife, Leona, of Fullerton, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Fred Meyer and Frank Meyer; and five sisters, Angelina Meyer, Katherine Meyer, Mrs. Marie Brandt, Mrs. Charlotte Kramer and Mrs. Anna C. Shipley.
