Services for Vernon Lorenzen, 48, of Woden, who died Sunday, July 27, 1986 at the Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 31st at St. John's Lutheran Church in Woden with Rev. Keith Klemm as officiant. Mrs. John Kurtzleben will serve as organist.

Casket bearers will be: Bill Gerdes, Wayne Berhow, Guy Markle, Dean Abele, Jim Eden and Bud Mason.

Burial will be in Bingham Township Cemetery at Woden. Visitation will be held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Woden after 1:00 p.m., Wednesday.

Vernon Leroy Lorenzen, the son of Alvin and Mary (Fuoss) Lorenzen was born March 3, 1938 in Dixon County in Nebraska. After attending the rural schools of Deuel County in South Dakota he worked for various farmers for several years.

October 25, 1961 he married Barbara Phillips at Madison, Minn. They lived at Madison and Marietta, Minn., where Vernon worked for the Farmer's Elevator until 1969, when they moved to Woden. He worked for Winnebago Industries in Forest City until 1974 when he was employed by Britt Implement in Britt. Since 1975 he drove semi-trucks until his accident, April 10, 1986 west of Maricopa, Calif. Vernon had been hospitalized until his death Sunday, July 27, 1986. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Woden.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Woden; his children, Mrs. Jeffery (Kimberly) Korte of Uncasville, Conn.; Mrs. Darrell (Susan) Brandt of Rake, Robert of Woden, Mrs. Steve (Tammra) Hugo of Woden, Patricia of Woden, Pamela of Woden and Scott of Woden; six grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lorenzen of Gary, South Dakota; his brothers and sisters, Kenneth and his wife, Ann, of Marietta, Minn., Mrs. Earl (Martha) Hauff of Harlowton, Mont., Norman and his wife, Carol, of Portland, Ore., Earl and his wife, Judy, of Harker Heights, Tx., Mrs. Dennis (Carol) Siedschlag of Madison, Minn., and Eugene and his wife, Janelle, of Gary, S. Dak.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Lorenzen.
