Services for Howard Fredrickson, 71, of Crystal Lake, who died Thursday, Nov. 6, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt were held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 8 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake with Rev. Arnold Payne as officiant.

Mrs. James Larson served as organist. Ushers were Bryce Juhl and Walter Rose.

Casket bearers were Richard Carney, James Kirschbaum, Duane Pigman, Ralph Juhl, Maynard Johnson and Jake Appelhons.

Graveside military rites at Bingham Township Cemetery south of Woden were conducted by the James Rasmusson Post #409 of Crystal Lake. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt.

Howard Merle Fredrickson, the son of Theodore and Hilda (Swanson) Fredrickson was born January 6, 1915 on a farm near Woden. After graduating from Woden High School in 1934, he helped farm the family farm for several years.

February 7, 1942, he married Mildred Kramer at Blue Earth, Minn. July 20, 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a radio operator in the European Theater until his discharge, Nov. 19, 1945. He then worked for Junker's Garage in Woden until May of 1958, when he moved with his family to Crystal Lake where he owned and operated the Standard Station. In 1977 he sold the station and retired.

He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post in Crystal Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of Crystal Lake; his son, Brad, and his wife; Linda, of St. Louis Park, Minn.; two grandchildren, Julie and Brian; three sisters, Mrs. LeRoy (Viola) Eaton of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Mrs. B.J. (Betty) Malone of Sedona, Ariz. and Mrs. Doyle (Arlys) Mills of Golden, Colo. and his brother, Maurice T. and his wife, Gladys, of Golden, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Evelyn Fredrickson and Mrs. H.H. (Dorothy) Hunt and an infant brother, Robert.
