Services for Hanford G. Brock, 69, of Woden, who died Sunday, June 25, 1989 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, were held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 28 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Woden with Rev. Fr. Louis J. Trzil as officiant. Paul Wellik was lector.

Francis Harrington, organist, accompanied the choir. Sheri Culbertson, accompanied, Mrs. James Wellik, soloist. Ron Eden was usher. Mass servers were Jonathan Olson, Jeremy Walker and Martin Furst.

Casket bearers were Richard Trunkhill, Rickie Brock, John Brock, John Jandl, Everett Brock and Don Diers.

Burial was in Bingham Township Cemetery south of Woden. Visitation and rosaries by the Knights of Columbus and the Parish were held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Woden, Tuesday evening.

Hanford George Brock, the son of George and Lucy (Caudel) Brock, was born April 22, 1920 at Homer, GA. He received most of his education in Georgia, before moving to the Woden area in 1937.

March 9, 1942, he married Loreen Jandl in St. Cecelia's Catholic Church in Algona. They farmed in the Woden area for several years. Hanford was a school bus driver for the Woden-Crystal Lake Schools for 17 years. He retired in 1985, after working for Winnebago Industries in Forest City for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Loreen, of Woden; his son, Michael Brock and his wife, Debrah, of Mason City; 3 grandsons, Christopher, Jeremy and Adam, all of Mason City; 2 brothers, Cohen Brock and his wife, Norma, of Leland and Fred Smith of Leland; 3 sisters, Mrs. Coleen Devin and her husband, Robert, of Weber Falls, OK, Mrs. Zudavee Holland of Forest City and Mrs. Madeline Jensen and her husband, Stephen, of Marion; and 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Violet Ohm of Forest City and, Mrs. Robert (Joan) Christianson of Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Clifton Brock and Edwin Smith; and 2 infant sisters.
