Services for Robert Dodd, 62, of Miller, who died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 1990 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, were held 10 a.m.,
Friday, Aug. 24 at Faith Lutheran Church in Miller with Rev. Steve Lomen and Rev. Linda Johnson, as officiants.

Mrs. Ronald Anderson was organist. Ushers were Pat Azeltine, Harold Hall and Bill Olson.

Casket bearers were Robert Dodd, Scott Dodd, Rodney Dodd, Steven Dodd, Jeffrey Powers and Kenneth Dodd.

Burial was in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner with graveside military rites icing conducted by the Garner Veterans Ceremonial Unit. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Robert Merle Dodd, the son of Guy Walton and Stella Eulalia (Lundy) Dodd, was born December 11, 1927 at Clear Lake. After attending school at Clear Lake, he served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1945 until 1948.

November 11, 1951, he married Verneil Humphrey at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Bob worked for Gerdes John Deere, the Bock Oil Company and from 1956-66, the Hancock County Road Maintenance Department. From 1966, until 1987, he was self-employed as a farm machinery, set-up contractor. He then worked for Power-Pro, Inc. in Mason City until August of 1988.

Bob was an avid woodworker and enjoyed making gifts for his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Miller and was on the church council. He was a member of the V. F. W., Edwin Jante Post #5515 in Garner.

He is survived by his wife, Verneil Dodd of Miller; his children, Robert Dodd and his wife, Linda of Garner and their children, Heather, Shannon and Richard, Scott Dodd and his wife, Ruby of Garner and their children, Jonathan, Joseph and Thomas, Rodney Dodd and his wife, Cindy of Garner, Mrs. Elizabeth Powers and her husband, Jeffrey of Garner and their children, Matthew and Mandy and Steven Dodd and his wife, Judy of St. Louis, MO and their daughter, Carla; his sisters and brothers, Mrs. Lillian Ginn and her husband, Al of Manatoc, Canada, George Dodd and his wife, Florence of Hanlontown, Mrs. Myrna Schmidt and her husband, Walter of Garner, Floyd Dodd and his wife, Joyce of Garner and Ralph Dodd and his wife, Theo of Clear Lake, CA and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Roxanne Rene Dodd; his parents; and a brother, Dean Dodd.
