Services for Mark Anderson, 27, of Garner, who died Saturday, Oct. 6, 1990 the result of a hunting accident at Rice Lake, were held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the United Methodist Church in Garner with the Rev. Robert T. Ellis as officiant.

Mrs. Doreen Johnson, organist, accompanied vocal soloist, Bernie Urich and instrumental soloist, David Kendrick. Ushers were Bill Renner, Ted Hovda and Vern Butz.

Casket bearers were Jeff Brunsen, Mark Skogerboe, Kevin Bangert, John Farus, Kent Blank and Lee Blank.

Burial was in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner. The Cataldo Funeral Home of Garner was in charge of arrangements.

Mark Dale Anderson, the son of Dale Wilson and Val Joan (Stille) Anderson, was born August 5, 1963 at Buffalo, MN. In 1971, he moved with his family from Lake Mills to Garner, where he graduated from high school in 1981. He was a Rotary Exchange Student in Sweden for one year. Mark attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City and Iowa State University at Ames. He was a self-employed painter, had worked at North Iowa Grain Equipment Company in Garner and for the past two years had worked at Winnebago Industries at Forest City.

August 5, 1989, he married Catherine Hines at Calvary Baptist Church in Forest City. They made their home in Garner. Mark enjoyed sports and played on several softball teams. He was also an avid outdoors-man, enjoying hunting, fishing and trapping.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Ducks Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Anderson of Garner; his mother, Mrs. Val Anderson of Garner; two sisters, Mrs. Wendy Trone and her husband, John, and their children, Clarissa and Johnathon, all of Clarion; and Mrs. Jody Blank and her husband, Kent, of Peoria, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Anderson, April 18, 1988.
