Memorial services for Ruth Ann Bemis, 67, of Garner, who died Wednesday, April 27, 1988 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN, were held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 30 at the United Presbyterian Church in Garner with Rev. Bruce Giese as officiant.

Duane Cummings, organist, accompanied soloist, Lucile Wesson, who sang "Just As I Am" and "In the Garden".

Burial was in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner. Cataldo Funeral Home of Garner was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Ann Bemis, the daughter of Dr. George A. and Ruth Esther (Lewis) Bemis, was born March 25, 1921 in Garner. After graduating from Garner High School in 1938, she attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids. She had worked for the Hastings Law firm, Dr. Ryan, for Chris G. Olsen and then LeRoy Olsen in their accounting firm from 1947 to 1967. She was employed by Fitzgerald Accounting Service until 1971, when she started working at Iowa Mold Tooling Company in Garner.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and U.P.W. in Garner.

She is survived by her aunt, Mrs. Mildred Bronson of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. G.A. Bemis, June 30, 1942; her mother, Ruth E. Reemtsma, August 14, 1978 and her step-father, Ben Reemtsma, September 30, 1960.
