Eunice Paulson

Forest City - Eunice Paulson, 90, of Forest City died Monday (July 11, 2005) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City with the Rev. Lee Laaveg officiating. Burial will be at Madison Township Cemetery in rural Forest City. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St., Forest City, and an hour prior to service at the church.

Eunice Underwood Paulson was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Bristol Township, Worth County, Iowa, to Ruth Byrl Monson Underwood and Arthur Underwood. She lived in different areas until school age and moved to rural Lake Mills. She moved with her parents to Forest City at the age of 10.

She was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, where she has been a member ever since.

On March 1, 1936, she was married to Paul Paulson, son of Carl and Emma Paulson. Mr. Paulson passed away Oct. 21, 1980, and Eunice moved to Forest City in 1981. She belonged to the Ellington L.R.A. Club and circles at Immanuel and for some time to the Senior Citizens Kum Along Club.

She has four children: Robert and Max of Forest City, Mary Jane at Woodward State Hospital School, and Shirlee Trent of Fort Dodge.

She is also survived by her four grandsons and one granddaughter, seven great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five brothers, Ashael, Ellsworth, Duane, Virgil, and Ardell.
