1900-1988

Services for Harold L. Quintus, 87, of Garner, who died Tuesday, April 12, 1988 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City were held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 16 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Garner with Rev. James Lamb as officiant, assisted by Vicar Paul Drake.

James Borcherding served as organist. Ushers were Ray Radloff and Arnold Steege.

Honorary bearers were Addis Greiman, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Ziesmer, Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Bakken and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weiss.

Active casket bearers were: John Eness, Don Greiman, Clif Greiman, Don Quintus, Warren Quintus and Ernest Woiwood.

Burial was in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Gamer.

Harold Louis Quintus, the son of Louis and Sarabelle (Mallory) Quintus, was born December 3, 1900 at Garner. After attending the Garner Community Schools, he farmed with his parents on the home farm. He was bapitzed in 1927 in South Dakota.

June 15, 1927, he married Agnes Isabel Ljusens at Clear Lake. They lived and farmed, with the exception of two years, on the family farm south of Garner. In 1981, they retired and moved into town. Harold was a cattle buyer and flew his own airplane for over fifty years.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gamer.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes, March 13, 1986; his parents; brother, Ralph Quintus.
