1940-2000

A private family interment for Ronald Erdman, age 59, of Forest City, was held at Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City on Friday, February 11. He died at his home on February 5.

Ronald J. Erdman was born in Britt on July 21, 1940, the son of Jerome and Phyllis (Richardson) Erdman. He graduated from Forest City High School in 1957, attended Iowa State University and graduated from Hamilton College in 1961. Ron then became a licensed Certified Public Accountant and opened his own firm in Forest City.

He married Dianna Schleusner June 8, 1963 at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City.

Ron was active in the community as a member of the Lions Club and the Forest City Chamber of Commerce. He served as a Director of the United Fund and the Forest City Bank and Trust. He was also a Trustee on the Board of Directors of the Forest City Hospital.

On February 23, 1991, he married Barbara Klesel Hanson at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City.

Ron is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Forest City; daughter, Lisa Connor and husband Pat and their 3 children of Cumming; son, Jeffrey Erdman and his fiancee, Teresa Nutt, of St. Paul, MN; daughter, Karla Fischer and husband David and their 2 children of Cedar Rapids; 2 step-sons, Thomas Hanson of Isanti, MN and Patrick Hanson of Winona, MN; brother, Larry Erdman and wife Rose of Forest City and his maternal grandmother, Myrtle Richardson of LuVerne.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Viola Lackore Erdman.
