1916-1999

Services for Edna Meyer, 82, of Clarion, formerly of Garner, who died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at the Clarion Health Center in Clarion, were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner with Rev. Kay Hooper as officiant.

Edna's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were casket bearers.

Burial was in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner. Visitation was held one hour prior to services at the chapel.

Edna Frances Meyer, the daughter of Lesson and Hazel (Hughes) Brayton, was born October 30, 1916, at Des Moines. She graduated from Hansell High School in 1934.

July 23, 1935, she married Forrest Lee Meyer in Hampton. They lived in the Hampton area, moved south of Clear Lake and in 1953, moved to Garner where Lee worked for E.C. Buntenbach at the Garner Sales Barn. After her husband's death in 1973, Edna moved to Clear Lake, Mason City and then to Hixton, WI. In July of 1994, she moved to Clarion to be near her daughter.

She enjoyed her family and tube-painting of pillow cases. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist faith.

She is survived by three children, Cheryl Rodriguez and her husband Frank, of Clarion, and their children, Terry, Debra, Carrie, Carmen and Joleen, Wayne Meyer and his wife, Darlene of Osseo, WI, and their children, Mitchell, Becky, Sandy and Gretchen and Marvin Meyer of Osseo, WI, and his children, Jeff and Michelle; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Meyer; a grandson, Brian Meyer; her mother; father; and stepfather.
