Nancy Lewis of Yankton, S.D. died of heart failure Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000 at her home. She was 43.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 4 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garner. The Rev. Clyde Kieschnick and the Rev. Bob Bronson officiated.

Burial was in the Concord Township Cemetery, The Kostel Funeral Home of Yankton was in charge of arrangements.

Casket bearers were Kirk Simons, Kyle Simons, Joel Gracey, Travis Fadale, Dan Lau, Brandon Meyer, Denny Vance and Al Christiansen.

Nancy (Starry) Lewis was born July 28, 1957 to Richard and Ilo Mae (Simons) Starry in Cedar Rapids. She grew up in the Maquoketa area and graduated from Iowa Falls.

On Jan. 13, 1978, she was blessed with the birth of a daughter, Jennifer. She worked as a medical aide at Duncan Heights, Duncan and at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake.

She married Steven R. Lewis on June 25, 1994 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garner. She was the assistant produce manager at Bill's Super Fair food store in Garner until July 1997 when she moved to Yankton, SD with her husband. During the three years in Yankton, she worked for the Save-U-More food store and First Dakota National Bank.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Garner and the Garner AA. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, visiting family, adding to her toy collection and taking care of her dog, Lizzie.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Lewis of Yankton; her parents, Richard and Ilo Mae Starry of Garner, a daughter, Jennifer Lewis of St. Cloud, Minn., two stepsons, Justin Lewis of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Steven Lewis and his wife Dori, of Mesa, Ariz.

Also surviving are two brothers, Shawn Starry and his wife, Hope, of Garner, and Michael Starry of Garner; a sister Barb Kruser and her husband, Greg, of Maquoketa; two nieces, Kathryn Starry and Katie Kinseth; four nephews, Travis Fadale, Derek and Cody Kruser, and Joseph Starry.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and one niece, Carla Fadale.
