Nora Rouss [Ruoss], former Crystal Lake woman, dies

Services for Nora Ruoss, formerly of the Crystal Lake area, were held Saturday at 2 p.m, in the Boughton-Woden Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Walter F. Morz, Pastor, First Presbyterian Church, Algona, officiated.

Mrs. Dale Rittenhouse was the pianist and Telmer J. Nodland, the soloist. Flowers were arranged by Mrs. Jake Helm and Mrs. Blanche Valley.

Casket Bearers were Vernon Hansmeier, Harvey Hage, Arthur Siekmeier, Richard Becker, Archie Graber and Bruce Hanna with burial in Crystal Cemetery, Crystal Lake.

Daughter of John and Ida Saak Ruoss, she was born July 8, 1899, rural Forest City. She received baptism in infancy and was confirmed in the Presbyterian Church at Woden. She received her education in the neighborhood school where she grew to womanhood.

For many years she followed practical nursing and also practiced her profession for more than 25 years in Phoenix, Ariz. where she resided. She had never married.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Phoenix.

For the past year she has been in ill health and confined to the Phoenix Convalescent Center, where she died last Tuesday afternoon.

She is survived by two brothers, Otto and Albert Ruoss, rural Forest City, a foster sister Mrs. Harry Hansmeier, also rural Forest City, also several cousins, and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant sister.
