Alfred L. Rood

Alfred L. Rood, 69, of 306 N. 12th St., Clear Lake, died Sunday (March 29, 1981) at a Mason City hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ventura, with the Rev. R.B. Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Garner.

Visitation will be after 5:30 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.

Mr. Rood was born in Bode where he spent his early years. He moved to Chicago, Ill., in 1941 where he worked as an electrician. In 1977 he retired and moved to Clear Lake.

Survivors include his wife, Alpha Jass Rood, Clear Lake, one daughter, LaVonne Mattes, Chicago, Ill; one son, Douglas Rood, Schaumberg, Ill: six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: a foster daughter, Mrs. Joan Grover, Hazelcrest, Ill: four brothers, Oden Rood and Burton Rood, both of Bode; Wilbur Rood, Mason City, and Newton Rood, Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Edith Sanderson, Clear Lake: Mabel Lutz, Dumont, and Martha Johnson. Corwith; also several nieces and nephews.
