Services for Menno Redenius, 81, Britt, who died Saturday, July 22, 1989 at North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, were held Tuesday, July 25, 1:30 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church in Woden with Rev. Gerald Devries officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mrs. Clarence Harringa, who accompanied the congregation and a quartet, Steve Harringa, Joyce DeWaard, Marlin Tjarks and Deb Stevens. Ushers were Albertus Kruger, George P. Smidt, Ed Hillinga and David Eden.

Casket bearers were Clarence Penning, Alfred Redenius, Marvin Hillenga, Robert Penning, Raymond Bruns and Vernon Stohr.

Burial was at the Christian Reformed Church Cemetery in Woden with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Menno Redenius, the son of Menne and Trientje Pommer Redenius, was born October 8, 1907 in Kossuth County north of Wesley. He later moved with his family to a farm northwest of Britt. He received his education in the rural schools of Orthel Township. He was baptized and made profession of faith in the Christian Faith.

February 21, 1932, he married Lora Stohr at the Immanual Lutheran Church in rural Titonka. The couple moved to the family farm north of Hutchins. They farmed in Orthel Township until they retired and moved into Britt in 1968.

Menno was an active member of the Woden Christian Reformed Church where he served as a Deacon and an Elder for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Lora of Britt; five sons, Dr. Myron and wife, Diane of Billings, MT, Kermit and wife, Rose of Clarion, Elwin and wife, Linda of Britt, Gerald and wife, Yolanda of Britt, Ronald and wife, Mary Jane of Forest City; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Sena Limberg of Britt; three brothers, Ole and wife, Mary of Cedar Falls, John of Rockford, IL, George and wife, Sylvia of Lennox, SD; sister-in-law, Trienette Redenius of Titonka; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rally Penning; two brothers, Fred and Henry.
