Edwin H. Putz rites Wednesday

Funeral services for Edwin H. Putz of Forest City will be conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Faith Lutheran church in Miller. The Rev. Emil Martinson will officiate.

Mrs. Emil Martinson will be soloist accompanied by Mrs. Ronald Anderson, organist.

Casket bearers will be Monty Branstad, Ben Harringa, Fred Jacobson, Harvey D. Johnson, Frank Kasik and LeRoy Nelson. Burial will be in Madison Township cemetery with the Petersen Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Putz, 66, died Sunday at a hospital in Browerville, Minn. In the summer of 1982, it was discovered he had cancer. Since then, he had been hospitalized much of the time.

Edwin H. Putz was born Nov. 24, 1915, in Minnesota Lake, Minn., to Herman and Emma Urban Putz. He was baptized at St. Paul's Evangelical United Church of Christ, confirmed at Peace Evangelical Church of Christ and attended the schools in Minnesota Lake.

Sept. 22, 1942, he was married to Mahaila Grunzke at St. Paul's Evangelical United Church of Christ. The couple farmed near Minnesota Lake until moving to a farm near Miller in 1949. Due to health problems, Edwin moved to an acreage near Forest City in 1972 where he established a mobile home park.

Survivors include his wife, Mahaila; three children, Mrs. Paul (Bonnie) Schott of Grey Eagle, Minn., Curtiss Putz of Houston, Texas, and Michael Putz of Forest City; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Earl (Ruth) Collins of Wells, Minn., Mrs. George (Frieda) Bogenschutz of Minnesota Lake, Minn., and Mrs. Oscar (Alma) Radar of Mankato, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Carl Putz.
