Memorial services for Jack Morris, 70, Garner, who died Saturday, May 14, 1988 at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, will be held 10 a.m, Wednesday, May 18 at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner with Rev. James Lamb of St. Paul's Lutheran Church as officiant.

Mrs. Dean Cataldo will serve as organist and soloist.

Graveside military rites will be conducted at Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City by the Garner Veterans Ceremonial Unit.

Jack Morgan Morris, the son of Moses A. and Lula (Holbet) Morris, was born January 29, 1918 at Goosebill, MT. He moved with his family to Nora Springs, where he attended school.

From 1941-45 he served his country in the U.S. Army in the North African and European Theaters. He then worked as a mechanic in Clarion, California, Britt and Minneapolis, MN.

June 15, 1964, he married Florence Rhine Hanson at Sioux Falls, SD. In 1983 he retired and in 1987, moved to Prairie View Apartments in Garner from Minneapolis.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Garner VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Florence of Garner; his children, Mrs. Glenice Schinnow and her husband Robert of Forest City, Gary Morris and his wife, Marjorie of Forest City, Arlo Hanson and his wife, Marilyn of Mason City, Ronald Hanson and his wife, Donna of Forest City, Carroll Hanson of Wichita, KS and Joel Hanson and his wife, Brenda of Garner; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Merle and his wife, Wilma of Lime Springs and Robert and his wife, Vivian of Mason City; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Thelma Morris of Denver, Co.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Reynolds and Mrs. Vera Clapp; and two brothers, Clifford and Kenneth.
