Agnes H. Lund services Friday

Funeral services for Agnes H. Lund of Minneapolis, 73, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Petersen Funeral chapel. The Rev. Steven Dornbusch, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran church in Forest City, will officiate.

Casket bearers will be Eric, Gary and Jerry Barsness, Brian Rauk, Richard Rovang, Douglas Formanek and Paul Hertel.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Markusen will provide special music. Burial will be in Madison Township cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home after noon Thursday until the time of service.

Agnes H. Lund, the daughter of Nick and Josie Jarshaw Lund, was born April 22, 1913, near Rake. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Rake and confirmed at the former West Prairie Lutheran church near Thompson.

She received her education in a rural school near her home and graduated from Thompson high school in 1931.

Miss Lund attended Teachers College in Cedar Falls, taught rural schools near Thompson and attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. After working in Des Moines for a few years, she moved to Dallas. Texas, to begin a career as payroll master for the Hilton Hotels in Dallas and San Francisco. After working for the Hilton Hotels for 33 years, she retired in 1981 and moved to Minneapolis in 1982.

Miss Lund had been in poor health most of that time and was dependent on kidney dialysis. She died Oct. 26 at a Minneapolis hospital.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Barsness of Mason City and Mrs. Carlton (Ruby) Rauk of Forest City; and two brothers, Norman Lund of Hazlet, N.J., and the Rev. Burnell Lund of Dallas, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents a brother, Homer Lund.
