Services for Myrtle Larson, 90, of Crystal Lake, who died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999 at the Westview Care Center, Britt, were held 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 5, at the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake with the Rev. Kenneth Suetterlin officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mrs. Mabel Rensink, who accompanied soloist, Bruce Wubben, and congregational hymns. Ushers were Wilbur Peterson and Galen Wooge.

Casket bearers were Myrtle's grandchildren.

Interment was in Crystal Township Cemetery, Crystal Lake.

Visitation was held Thursday at the Cataldo Funeral Home, Britt.

Myrtle Annette Larson, the daughter of Nels and Lily (Jacobson) Thompson, was born May 1, 1908 at Forest City. She attended school at Forest City.

March 16, 1933, she married LuVerne Arthur Larson at the United Methodist Church parsonage at Galena, IL. They farmed west of Crystal Lake from 1940 until they retired in 1987. They also owned and operated Larson Boating Service in Crystal Lake. In April of 1994, they moved to Prairie View Apartments in Garner. She moved to the Westview Care Center in Britt in January of 1996.

Myrtle and LuVerne enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with family and friends and also traveling with their motor home. They wintered in southern Texas for over 20 years. Myrtle grew beautiful flowers both inside and outside her home and loved to knit.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake, Ladies Aid and U.M.W. She was also a member of the Crystal Lake Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Golbuff and husband, Gary of West Bend; and Thomas Larson and his wife, Karen of Forest City; seven grandchildren, Bradley Golbuff, Timothy Golbuff and wife, Kimberly, Daniel Golbuff and wife, Mireille, Lori Larson, Michael Larson and wife, Sandy, Erik Larson and Wade Larson; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Larson, Spencer Larson, Taran Larson and Jacob Golbuff; two sisters, Lois Verhoef and husband, Herman of Forest City. and Uva Hanson of Santa Ana, CA; a brother, Vernon Thompson and wife, Willetta of Bend, OR; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LuVerne, November 9, 1994; parents; an infant granddaughter, four brothers, William Thompson, Dorn Thompson, Forrest Thompson and an infant brother, Marvin Thompson; and three sisters, Fern Hefte, Evangeline Nelson and De Etta Marinelli.
