Services for Luverne A. Larson, 83, of Garner, formerly of Crystal Lake, who died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1994 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, were held 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, at the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake with Pastor Kenneth D. Suetterlin as officiant.

Mrs. Mabel Rensink, organist, accompanied Bruce Wubben, soloist. Ushers were Galen Wooge and Jack Krull.

Casket bearers were grandchildren Bradley Golbuff, Timothy Golbuff, Daniel Golbuff, Lori Larson, Michael Larson, Erik Larson and Wade Larson.

Burial was in Crystal Township Cemetery in Crystal Lake. Visitation was at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt.

Luverne Arthur Larson, the son of Otto and Aletha (Benson) Larson, was born November 2, 1911 at Iowa Falls. He graduated from Crystal Lake High School in 1929.

March 16, 1933, he married Myrtle A. Thompson at the Methodist parsonage in Galena, IL. They farmed west of Crystal Lake from 1940 until they retired in 1987. In April of 1994, they moved to Prairie View Apartments in Garner. He owned and operated the Larson Boating Service where he was a dealer for Evinrude and Crestliner. He also delivered motor homes for Winnebago Industries in Forest City. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with his family and friends and also traveling with their motor home. Luverne and Myrtle wintered in southern Texas for over 20 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake where he served on the Methodist Church Board, belonged to the Crystal Lake Senior Citizens and was a past board member of the Crystal Lake Schools.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle A. Larson of Garner; his daughter, Sharon Golbuff and her husband, Gary of Rodman; his son, Thomas Larson and his wife, Karen of Forest City; seven grandchildren, Bradley Golbuff, Timothy Golbuff, Daniel Golbuff, Lori Larson, Michael Larson and his wife, Sandy, Erik Larson and Wade Larson; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Larson, Spencer Larson and Taran Larson; two brothers, Richard Larson and his wife Naomi of Crystal Lake and Otto Larson Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Crystal Lake; two sisters, Virginia Neeley and her husband, Hugh of St. Ansgar and Darlene Thompson and her husband. Richard, of Crystal Lake; and a sister-in-law, Darlene Larson of Forest City.

He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter Golbuff; his parents and a brother, Robert Larson.
