Services for Clifford E. Larson, 79, of rural Garner who died Monday, April 24, 1989 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, were held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 27 at Faith Lutheran Church in Miller with Rev. Steve Lomen and Rev. Linda Johnson as co-officiants.

Mrs. Ronald Anderson, organist, accompanied, soloist, Warren Torkelson. Ushers were Arno Olson and Bill Olson.

Casket bearers were Charles Larson, Robert Larson, Rick Pitzenberger, Bert Lee, Kirk Larson, and Brett Larson.

Burial was in Ellington Prairie Cemetery east of Miller. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Clifford Earl Larson, the son of Hildus and Ida (Fogue) Larson was born December 4, 1909 on the home farm in Ellington Township in Hancock County. He was baptized and confirmed in Ellington Prairie Lutheran Church. He attended the rural schools of Ellington Township. Cliff farmed his entire life on the home farm.

October 24, 1930, he married Agnes Johnson in Fort Dodge. In 1971, they retired from active farming and continued to live on the home place. For several years, Cliff had worked for the Hancock County Engineering Department and also for the Forest City Canning Company.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and Lutheran Brotherhood in Miller and had been a Director of Ellington Township School #7.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes, of Garner; his son, Richard D. Larson and his wife, Deloris, of Garner; his daughter, Mrs. Marlys Ennis and her husband, Richard of Mason City; his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Merry Larson of Indianola; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Hildreth Larson and his wife, Helen, of Frankfort, IN and Perry Larson and his wife, Vivian, of Pittsburg, PA.

He was preceded in death by his son, LeRoy Larson in 1982; his parents; and his brothers and sisters, Herbert Larson, Mrs. Hazel Bancroft, Amos Larson and Mrs. Mabel Johnson.
