Services for Edward Larsen, 77, of Garner, who died Sunday at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, were held 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15 at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner. Rev. Jerry Wolcott of the United Methodist Church in Garner was officiant.

Mrs. Dean Cataldo served as both organist and soloist. Casketbearers were: Richard Whitehurst, Reuben "Butch" Whitehurst, Mike Duregger, Carl Kuch, Clayton Greiman and Calvin Sorenson.

Burial was in Crystal Township Cemetery at Crystal Lake. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Edward MacKenzie Larsen, the son of Fred C. and Christina (MacKenzie) Larsen was born May 4, 1907 at Crystal Lake. He attended Buffalo Grove School in Crystal Township.

He lived at home with his parents until 1947 when he moved to the Hancock County Care Center. In 1975 he moved to Concord Care Center in Garner.

He attended the United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. John (Marie) Whitehurst of Garner and Mrs. Viola Jacobsen of Bradgate; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Grace Larsen of Dougherty and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Anton "Tony" Larsen and a sister, Mrs. Rebecca McEldowney.
